What is HTML?
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.
What it means is when first HTML was created it contained only text and its main job was to link from one page to another. Back then you could think of it just like books.
- Open your book
- Read page 1
- Turn to page 2 (Link to another page. That step was HTML’s main job ,back then)
HTML (1) was created by Tim Berners-Lee in 1990 as a way to electronically connect
documents via hyperlinks
HTML is used to create electronic documents (called pages) that are displayed on the World Wide Web. Each page contains a series of connections to other pages called hyperlinks. Every web page you see on the Internet is written using one version of HTML code or another.
